Old Rockers Never Die
Twitter brought Dallas Taylor back to many of us this past week. For those who remember the name but not the details, Dallas joined Crosby, Stills and Nash (CSN) for their second album, Deja Vu in 1970 and also backed up Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (CSN&Y). In 1971, Taylor and Stills trasitioned to the band Manassas (see and hear following the Taylor interview below). If you are an album credit fanatic like me, you will find Taylor's name listed on a number of albums from the '70s.
Here's where he went. Heroin ruined his career. He has been clean for 23 years and now works as a drug interventionist. He recently released shared a podcast with Twitter followers that includes a dozen newer songs. You can follow him on Twitter at @DallasWTaylor.
Check out the classic photos below from his interventionist web site, and then watch the interview. credited to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smIML1O-A6s. For more Dallas Taylor music, go to http://www.dallastaylorband.com/,
In 1971, CSN&Y drummer Dallas Taylor and Stephen Stills hooked up with singer/guitarist Chris Hilman, steel pedal guitarist Al Perkins, percussionist Joe Lala, bassist Fuzzy Samuels and Paul Harris on Keyboards to form Manassas. Here they perform It Doesn't Matter (1972).
