They Have Heart

About a month ago, CK suggested that I create an award called the All Heart Award.  Today, I am launchingHeartlew the award to be given to those bloggers who demonstrate such attributes as kindness, caring, and giving and use their blogs to promote goodness.

I am happy to tell you that there is no better time than now to present the award to two people who take every opportunity to reach out to others, to give back to the community and to make our planet a better place to live and work.

Next Monday, July 16, a book called The Conversation Age, which was written by 100 authors, will be made available to the public. (See the link to the page at the top right for more information.) The project was spearheaded by Drew Age_conversation_2 McLellan: The Marketing Minute, and Gavin Heaton: Servant of Chaos. They have volunteered tons of hours to make this happen. Not only will the contents help all of us be better at what we do, all of the proceeds from sales will be donated to Variety the Children's Charity, which serves children across the entire globe.

This is just the most recent example of Drew's and Gavin's demonstration of having big hearts. Together and separately they have on a number of occasions reached out to us with wisdom and kindness. Thank you both for who you are and for what you bring to our community. You represent the best among us.

Lewis,

Wow. I'm a little speechless. Thank you.

As you know, the Age of Conversation has been a labor of love all along. Gavin has been a godsend of a partner in it and I feel blessed for sharing the project with him. You've got him pegged for sure. He's all about heart.

Your kind words have made my day. Again, thank you so much.

Drew

Drew,

You da man. I want to be careful with this award and only use it following something that really impacts other humans in a way that changes their lives or touches them in special ways.

Lewis,

The cool thing is...you won't have any trouble finding worthy bloggers to honor in this way. What a generous, selfless group of people we've come to know.

I can't you what an honor it is to have think I'm worthy of this kind of recognition. I'm very humbled by it.

Drew

Lewis,

What an AMAZING idea AND award!

And such a wonderful gesture to two beautiful and kind men!

I just love that heart having wings. It just makes so much sense for you to honor worthy examples this way...it maps to your brand--which is an extention of you. Looking so forward to seeing the hearty winners for years to come.

And what I love best is that it's given to Drew and Gav first. They are ALL heart.

Thanks Lew! You know, it has been a tiring but amazing experience. Not only do WE get to work with some of the brightest minds in the marketing world, but I get to work with Drew -- one on one. And let me just tell you he is fantastic -- fun, smart, organised, generous and hugely energetic (and much, much nicer than me).
And Drew is right ... there are many other bloggers worthy of this award -- there are at least 100 in the book. Each and every one of the contributors gave their time, creativity (and publishing rights) freely -- for a good cause. It may not change the world, but it may change the lives of a few kids along the way ... and that is a good thing! Thanks again.

Drew,

I have come to admire you over the past year for your kindness, generosity and sensitivity. Thank you for being a giving person and for making the planet better.

Sean and CK,

The idea was CK's, my wife created the logo, and I am proud to host the aware here. Thank you for your support and for honoring Gavin and Drew.

Lewis - This was a great idea by CK, your wife did a wonderful job with the logo, and you hit a grand slam with your first two selections. I think this is going to be a great thing for you and the community. Whomever gets the award, everyone wins!

Cam,

Collaboration can produce very good results. Thank you for adding to the discussion and for honoring Gavin and Drew.
